D2L Running Average
Complete the instructions below if you would like students to see their running average in your course.

Step 1
Navigate to the Grades area through the Assessment dropdown menu.
Step 2
On the right-hand side of the screen, click the Settings link.
Step 3
Click on the Org Unit Display Options tab. Checkmark each box beneath the Grade Details field. Then, make sure to checkmark the selection Display how final grade was calculated to users. Click the Save button.
Step 4
Click on the Calculation Options tab. Checkmark the options, Drop ungraded items and Automatically keep final grades updated. It is also recommended that you use the setting, Calculated Final Grade beneath the Final Grade Released field. Click the Save button.
Step 5
A confirmation window will appear to confirm you want to save changes. Click the Yes button.
Step 6
Return to your gradebook by clicking on the Close button.
Step 7
Click on the Enter Grades tab and scroll to the far right of your gradebook until you reach the Final Calculated Grade column. Select Grade All from the column’s dropdown menu.
Step 8
Once you’ve navigated to the Final Grades page, complete the following three steps using the dropdown menu next to Final Grades:
A) Select the Recalculate All option from the dropdown menu, and then select all grade items in the new window that opens.
- Click the Calculate button on the bottom left hand side of the window,
- Click the Yes button in the confirmation window.
