Creating Modules in Content


Before you can insert activities and files in the content area, you must create modules. Modules allow you to assemble your course content in an organized manner. Activities and files are organized under “parent” modules. Sub-modules can be developed under parent modules for additional organization.

Step 1

Navigate to the Content area of the course.


Step 2

On the menu in the left-hand side of content, type the name of the module you want to create directly into the field beneath the Table of Contents labeled Add a module..., then hit the Enter button on your keyboard or click your mouse outside of the Add a module field.


Step 3

Your new module will be added beneath the Table of Contents heading. To add a sub-module into your newly created module, type the name of your sub-module directly into the field labeled Add a sub-module…


Step 4

Your new sub-module will be added beneath the parent module in the Table of Contents. To view the sub-modules of any parent module, click on the icon to the left of the module name to expand the selection.
